The Weekly Recap 2023 Edition!
I feel like my foray into 2023 romance reading has been uh REALLY good?! Like everything I’ve read so far has been all 4.5-5 star reads?!
How much longer is this going to last do we think? I continue to make all the silly stuff over on instagram (and having so much fun doing it), and have even opened up commissions! Head on over to instagram here to access the submission form if you’re interested in potentially working together!
Okay here’s what I read this week:
Keyed Up Sarah Estep
I can’t give y’all all the details on this one but I will say that I read it in one sitting, laughed, dreamily sighed, made high pitched sounds throughout. I cannot wait for folks to read this one when it comes out May 4th 2023.
Next to You Hannah-Bonam Young (free with KU)
My heart still hasn’t fully recovered from the absolute banger of a romance Hannah has given us all. Lane and Matt are so special to me and gosh did I connect with and see myself in Lane. Keep some tissues handy for this friends to lovers romance that I don’t think I’ll ever stop thinking about.
Get Thee Off My Lawn Daria Vernon (free with KU)
There are so many things to absolutely LOVE about GTOML by Vernon (the cover, the writing, the swoons, the bathtub scene, the general hilarity) and y’all this absolutely delight of a historical novella should be on your kindles / TBR’s immediately.
The Lone Wolf’s Rejected Mate Cate C Wells (free with KU)
The very first book I read this year was the BANGER that was the latest book in Well’s five packs series. Mari and Darragh were so great together and on their own and the TREEHOUSE, my goodness, my little romance loving heart was very into it.
In Which Margo Halifax Earns Her Shocking Reputation by Alexandra Vasti
What a little unassuming newsletter SIGN UP treat! Y’all get your butts over to Vasti’s newsletter sign ups and snag yourself a free (i can believe its free) copy of this absolutely delightful historical romance between a sex-positive, fully-realized queer woman and her older brothers best friend, Henry.
Team Player Julianna Keyes
Major, major props to Eliza Mclane for telling me about this one (while we were fan girling over One True Outcome by KD Casey). This baseball sports romance between a star and the pr girl who kind of hates her job but is doing it to honor her dead aunt was so great. Def grab this one!
How Not to Date a Demon by Lana Kole (Free with KU)
Such a cute low angst (very sexy) paranormal novella from Kole! I loved Maeve and Galen (and hello three demon puppies!?!?!). I liked that we’re kind of just chucked right into the story and how his identity is slowly revealed to her. No 3rd act breakups and pierced nipples? Say no more.
