The Weekly Recap
Y’all it’s September. The Phillies are on the road trip from hell, and I can’t wait for it to be over, seriously. I went to a wedding yesterday, the first time being with a large group of randoms since the panorama began, and WOW am I just wiped today. Physically feeling like I’ve been hit by a truck, mentally I need ALL the quiet time. Emotionally I am thrilled I get one more buffer day to recharge. The social stimulation honey, she can’t handle it.
Okokokokok, here’s what I read this week…
Knox by Kate Oliver (Free with KU)
DD/lg romance meets romantic suspense, I needed something that was easy to read and cleansed the old palate a bit. Def a little forgettable but no regrets.
Forever After All by Catharina Maura (Free with KU)
Consider me very easily influenced. This is a billionaire marriage of convenience romance that was gooooooood. Also I love a billionaire that is basically mafia type alphahole. Bo Burnham voice 🎵I’m problematic 🎵.
Mafia Madman by Mila Finelli (Free with KU)
Okay, here’s me being influenced yet again. Mafia romance, featuring dub-con, a pierced 🐱, Stockholm syndrome, violence, and shit that would never EVER work for me IRL. But y’all, throw this into 350-375 pages on KindleUnlimited and I’m eating that stuff up like its going out of style.
Heartbreaker by Sarah MacLean
Damn this book was insanely great. Hot. Funny. Emotional. Hot. Like Sesily’s book Imogen is just such a freaking treat. I loved that Adelaide was just such freaking bad ass the whole time, AND Henry and his VERY straight nose and his school boxing education. So great.
Bombshell by Sarah MacLean
Hell’s Belle’s book 1, with my fav gal Sesily and CALEB (who is just such a FREAKING babely babe and all time book boyfriend). I love two idiots that are committed to sacrificing their happiness for the other to have the life they misguidedly believe they deserve. But truly Imogen STEALS every single scene she’s in.
Strange Love by Ann Aguirre
A hilarious and heartfelt alien romance with a talking dog! I loved this one, including the world building and the hero (what a cinnamon roll) but I needed a little more in that epilogue!
