The Weekly Recap

Well well well it’s almost the end of the year. And I feel like that gif of the kid that’s like I take a nap right here. This time of year (for me) is like one long reflective period (more on this soon). And after a truly wack-a-doodle of a work-week I’m here to tell y’all all about the stuff I read this week!

loading all sassy opinions….

Tis The Season for Revenge by Morgan Elizabeth (Free with KU)

A recently dumped woman motivated by revenge decides to seduce and f*ck her ex’s boss, but ends up falling in love. This is very Elle Woods if she didn’t chase Warner to Harvard Law. Look this is fun enough, and I did enjoy it, but some of the dialog was just truly insane. It’s not going on my best of all time list, but it was cute and a quick read.

My Ex-Boyfriends Dad by K.C. Crowne (free with KU)
Basically what the title says, plus the mob is involved because she, as a very young finance intern somehow discovered a HUGE money laundering scheme. Listen i’m not here for these things TO MAKE SENSE OK.

One Week With You by J.R. Jenner (Free with KU)

The algorithm giveth, and thank you very much instagram reel that sold me on this book. This was a new to me author and this quick sweet and hot novella of mid-thirties long time family friends (he’s her older bros BFF!!) have a little fake dating + snowed in at the Scottish cottage week, and oops I’ve actually loved you for a really long time. Let me tie you up and drive you wild. Plus my romance book lizard brain just loves that the guy is a ‘CEO’, and is looking at his laptop doing CEO stuff. chef’s kiss, truly.

Her River God Wolf by Ariana Hawkes (Free with KU)

This is the second time this year I’ve read the wrong book and gotten the titles mixed up. LOL, look at me being a semi-serious romance book blogger, with my inability to get the titles right. This is a novella with shifters, insta-love and an age gap. I can f*ck with it, it was silly enough to keep me interested.

Her Biker Wolf by Ariana Hawkes (Free with KU)
LOL so clearly I liked the first book enough to continue my journey into this series, this one worked alright for me, but the whole tension / suspense was resolved a little too perfectly. Also I lol’ed really f*cking hard when the FMC told the MMC she could FEEL HERSELF OVULATE, that it “does a little thing”. Baby who taught you sex-ed?! I would like a word.

The Wolf I Want for Christmas by Abigail Owen
Clearly this week is brought to you by shifter wolf romances. I’ve read a few of Owens other series (which I’ve loved) and this one was really sweet, and will slap for folks that love acts of service. Literally he fixes her water line, which sounds porny, but he literally fixed a broken main.

Lady Meets Earl by Christy Carlyle
I loved it, and I support the Harper Collins Union strike.

Yule Be My Duke by Darcy Burke

TV show Kanthony fans will LOVE Yule Be my Duke from Darcy Burke. This was one of 12 novellas from the Duke in a Box anthology (which was recently on sale for .99!!), and if this story of two legit ding dong enemies to lovers is any indication, the rest of the anthology is gonna be incredible.
