ARC Review: The Forces of Love
Holy shit do I love these Movie Magic novellas. And y’all I was lucky enough to get an early copy of the latest in that series: The Forces of Love. If you haven’t picked any of these up yet, I really don’t even get it. Like what are you even doing? These novellas are unique, fun, swoony, hot as hell and so so so wonderful. And pals The Forces of Love delivers all that and (I daresay) even more.
I’d like to thank Dani for the advance review copy, thoughts below are my own.
The Forces of Love follows Sophie and Mitch (and their imaginary friends Levi and Eva respectfully). And before I start waxing poetic about how much this book made me smile I just want to layer on the love this premise (and its pitch perfect delivery) deserves. It’s so deeply fun and dynamic (jumping between 4 POVs) and really adds to the magic world Dani has dreamed up.
Sophie is the bisexual black cat FMC of my dreams. Because girl same, trusting is hard and making friends means being a little open and whole lot vulnerable. And okay so but also, MITCH DANGER CHILL LANGFORD, you can get it my man. Especially with your backward ball caps and your adorable notes.
But the relationship, the friendship between Sophie and Mitch really is the shining star here. And I LOVE a friends to lovers. Like there are very few folks out there doing this well and DANI JUST FREAKING NAILS IT. But a friends to lovers where one is like I hate you (please never leave) and the other is like i love you (I’ll be with you forever) just scratches a very specific part of my brain that makes me deliriously happy.
Also in what might be the all-timeyest all time greatest things I’ve ever read:
With women I have a type. With men I have…. a problem.
I’m always so impressed with how Dani can pack so much depth, growth and development into a novella. I always finish them feeling so many things and oof the goodbye’s for both Levi and Eva punched me in my heart! Fans of the series will also lose their marbles™ with the epilogue cameo’s and honestly who wouldn’t these characters are all so special and to Dani I say THANK YOU.
You write romances that makes me feel like I have a champagne bottle ready to be uncorked inside my chest. Bubbly and joyful and ready to make me laugh-cry or cry-laugh or laugh-cry-laugh or, you get it.
There’s so much to love in this one (and all the Move Magic Novellas), so do yourself a favor and pre-order this one now so you’ll have it when it drops online July 25th 2023!
