May Month In Review

May! Is! Over! What the actual heck, so much stuff happened this month. I celebrated my *mumbles age incoherently* birthday, my partners birthday, I started a new job, I read a bunch of FANTASTIC advance reader copy romances (and got approved for even more), had a tweet go semi-viral, and battled my mental health like the resilient human that I am. The world continues to be really f*cking horrible and my heart remains really heavy. Take care of yourselves friends, do what you need to do to keep reaching for and finding your joy.

Whew, alright back to it.

Best of the month:

Beautiful Player by Christina Lauren

Older brothers best friend, becomes nerdy science girls dating and sex coach. Can’t believe I dragged my feet so long before picking this one up. I loved it and Twitter was right, Will Sumner is a BABELY babe and I will accept no criticism of him.

Book Lovers by Emily Henry

Uptight city lady with blunt blonde bob, takes a forced holiday to a small town with her very pregnant baby sister. Ends up falling in love with her professional nemesis. Henry’s books are auto-buys for me, and I regret nothing.

The Bride Goes Rogue by Joanna Shupe

Man gets kneecapped in the heart by a brilliant woman in a corset. But make it gilded age and add in a giant sexy orgy at Madison Square Garden. Loved this so much. Preston was a total ding dong, but ended up getting it right in the end.

Kiss Hard by Nalini Singh

Two high profile athletes (and childhood friends) end up fake dating and fall in love along the way. Disability rep. No 3rd act breakup. So much joy. Hot rugby guy who bakes. Pining. Afraid to lose the friendship, but horny. No notes.

Luxuria by Colette Rhodes (Free with KU)

Monster romance. Fated mates. Scary one thinks his brides scent is fear, but… spoiler its arousal. LOL to that adorable mix-em-up. Rhodes classic heroine archetype makes this one so enjoyable. Looking forward to the next one in this series.

Praise by Sara Cate (Free with KU)

Older BDSM guy who owns a kink club, falls for his estranged sons ex gf, who LOVES praise. This was a perfect mix of hot, spicy, kinky and surprisingly sweet.

Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake by Mazey Eddings (ARC)

Hot mess baker with ADHD falls in love with her baby daddy. Terrible parents make cameo’s. Delightful banter. Neurodivergence rep. Sticking it to a sexist boss POS. This one has everything. Full Review Here

Dream On by Angie Hockman (ARC)

Woman wakes up from a coma convinced she’s been with the love of her life for the 3 months only to find out she’s made the entire thing up. Ends up meeting her dream man IRL but there is a pesky (and handsome) brother to contend with. Who might just be more perfect than her dream man. Full Review Here

Man ready to seduce his lost love as revenge, all along not knowing what she’s given up to protect and save him. THE FEELINGS THEY ARE MANY.
