Everything For You eARC Review

Friends I am truly, deliciously, deliriously, and overwhelmingly excited to share my ARC review of Chloe Liese’s Bergman Brothers 5th book, Everything For You.

First let me share that I was provided an ARC (advanced reader copy) for a fair, honest, and unbiased review.

I feel like I am not even sure where to begin with this absolute stunner of a romance between sunshine-y Oliver Bergman and Roy-Kent grump Gavin Hayes. Fans of Chloe’s earlier series will have (most assuredly) already fallen deeply in love with Oliver, one half of the man-cubs, and were eagerly awaiting his love story, getting a small but mighty glimpse in With You Forever.

Chloe’s writing, is so deeply beautiful, and her ability to home in on the core of her characters (while sometimes imperfectly) is what makes these love stories so moving and cozy. Family, connection, authenticity, support, love. The Bergman family is truly unmatched in the the way the love their kids, and their kids partners. Seeing the love Oliver has in the moments (big and small) made my cheeks hurt from smiling.

And the cameo’s. God damn I loved seeing how the rest of my favorites were doing. But let’s get to the good stuff: Gavin + Ollie.

This grumpy-sunshine pairing worked on so many levels, and the balance these two create both on and off the soccer pitch spoke directly to my freaking soul. Watching Oliver confront his own past to step into vulnerability, and to just keep loving Gavin, even when things were challenging grabbed hold of my heart and refused to let go.

And our man Gav, oh wow did I fall so deeply in love with our guac making, anxiety soothing, grandpa supporting, Kladdkaka. He is in so much pain, physically, emotionally, mentally. Our man is SUFFERING and seeing him let Oliver in will really resonate with folks.

I think what I also just adore about Chloe’s love stories is how real and human they feel. Especially when Ollie is talking about being too hurt to read a romance, because they walk with you and are too intimate. I would also be remiss if if didn’t reference the ABSOLUTE insanity of how hot the god damn sexual tension is throughout.

Look I fucking, without any reservations LOVED the shit out of this. The tension, the romance and even the “breakup” was so beautifully, wonderfully told. The queer love and rep was special and really, really wonderfully written. The love and sensitivity in which Liese writes her characters seeps into your heart and stays with you LONG after you turn the last page.

Please, grab yourself a copy of Everything For You (and all the other Bergman Brother novels) wherever you get your books, May 10th 2022.
