2022 Reads I'm Excited About

With the end of the year approaching and folks rolling out their best of lists (I’m folks), I wanted to take a moment to look ahead to what is bound to land on my e-reader (or on my physical shelves).

2022 has a lot to be excited about, and I’ve grabbed a bunch, publishing between Jan and May, I can’t wait to sink my teeth into. We have long awaited series continuations, follow ups to freshman novels, some immortals after dark (finally), rom-coms and more. Okay, chronological-list-type-content incoming:

How to Love Your Neighbor by Sophie Sullivan

Expected Pub Date January 18th 2022

From Goodreads:

“Interior Design School? Check. Cute house to fix up? Check. Sexy, grumpy neighbor who is going to get in the way of your plans? Check. Unfortunately. Grace Travis has it all figured out. In between finishing school and working a million odd jobs, she’ll get her degree and her dream job. Most importantly, she’ll have a place to belong, something her harsh mother could never make. When an opportunity to fix up—and live in—a little house on the beach comes along, Grace is all in. Until her biggest roadblock moves in next door.”

I enjoyed Ten Rules for Faking It, so of course I am looking forward to a design-y home decor grumpy sunshine pairing. Sophie writes her heroines with such stunning realism that I’m eager to meet and love Grace.

Munro by Kresley Cole

Expected Pub Date January 25th 2022

From Goodreads:

“The next stand-alone installment in the electrifying Immortals After Dark series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole. Venture deeper into the Lore, fierce realm of the immortals. . . ”

We met Munro in MacRieve, and wow what an absolute cliffhanger of an ending. With such little information out there on this one, it’s anyone’s best guess as to what direction it is going to take. But my money is on a fierce enemies to lovers, with Kresley’s signature heat and Lykae sexiness.

A Brush With Love by Mazey Eddings

Expected Pub Date March 1st 2022

From Goodreads:

“Harper is anxiously awaiting placement into a top oral surgery residency program when she crashes (literally) into Dan. Harper would rather endure a Novocaine-free root canal than face any distractions, even one this adorable.”

I have been jealously seeing the ARC readers sharing there absolute LOVE of this one, and I am susceptible to this type of marketing, and also, a dental romance?! Yes please.

Hook Line and Sinker
by Tessa Bailey

Expected Pub Date March 1st 2022

From Goodreads:

“King crab fisherman Fox Thornton has a reputation as a sexy, carefree flirt. Everyone knows he's a guaranteed good time--in bed and out--and that's exactly how he prefers it. Until he meets Hannah Bellinger. She's immune to his charm and looks, but she seems to enjoy his... personality? And wants to be friends? Bizarre. But he likes her too much to risk a fling, so platonic pals it is.”

The follow up to one of my fave 2021 reads: It Happened One Summer! There was such a sweet friendship brewing between Fox and Hannah (remember the record?!), and I’m excited for the friends to lovers take that will undoubted be HOT as heck.

The Suite Spot by Trish Doller

Expected Pub Date March 8th 2022

From Goodreads:

“Rachel Beck has hit a brick wall. She’s a single mom, still living at home and trying to keep a dying relationship alive. Aside from her daughter, the one bright light in Rachel’s life is her job as the night reservations manager at a luxury hotel in Miami Beach—until the night she is fired for something she didn’t do.”

I LOVED Float Plan so much, that I need to consciously keep my expectations in check for this one. I have such high, high hopes and am putting my full faith in Trish to deliver another delightfully tender romance.

Love From Scratch
by Kaitlyn Hill

Expected Pub Date April 5th 2022

From Goodreads:

“This summer, Reese Camden is trading sweet tea and Southern hospitality for cold brew and crisp coastal air. She's landed her dream marketing internship at Friends of Flavor, a wildly popular cooking channel in Seattle. The only problem? Benny Beneventi, the relentlessly charming, backwards-baseball-cap-wearing culinary intern--and her main competition for the fall job.”

This has (hopefully non-problematic) Bon Appetit test kitchen love written all over it. And I am here for it.

Part of Your World
by Abby Jimenez

Expected Pub Date April 19th 2022

From Goodreads:

“After a wild bet, gourmet grilled-cheese sandwich, and cuddle with a baby goat, Alexis Montgomery has had her world turned upside down. The cause: Daniel Grant, a ridiculously hot carpenter who’s ten years younger than her and as casual as they come—the complete opposite of sophisticated city-girl Alexis. And yet their chemistry is undeniable.”

Abby writes such emotionally resonant, funny, endearing stories that I sink so fully into. I’ve heard from some early readers that this one is FANTASTIC, and it has a goat, so let’s get into it.

Book Lovers
by Emily Henry

Expected Pub Date May 3rd 2022

From Goodreads:

“Nora Stephens’ life is books—she’s read them all—and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby.

Which is why she agrees to go to Sunshine Falls, North Carolina for the month of August when Libby begs her for a sisters’ trip away—with visions of a small town transformation for Nora, who she’s convinced needs to become the heroine in her own story. But instead of picnics in meadows, or run-ins with a handsome country doctor or bulging-forearmed bartender, Nora keeps bumping into Charlie Lastra, a bookish brooding editor from back in the city. It would be a meet-cute if not for the fact that they’ve met many times and it’s never been cute.”

I mean, at this point I will read anything e-hems is going to write and publish. And you think I am joking.
